What’s new in Sendent?

New feature: Group Settings

With the integration of Nextcloud's Groups feature, Sendent now enables greater customization of settings within an organization. This feature makes it easy to tailor your Sendent experience to suit your needs and the needs of your organization.

Administrators can assign specific Sendent settings to Nextcloud groups, which can then be used to create customized settings for users in that group.

Features:

  • Create groups with their own distinct settings

  • Add users to specific groups

  • Configure settings for each group

  • Set the precedence of groups to determine which settings apply to users who belong to multiple groups

Improvements

  • Recipient and Sender exceptions: This allows users to set exceptions for Sendent's email attachment size limit based on the sender's or recipient’s email address. For example, if you add a specific email address or domain (e.g. “info@sendent.com or just @sendent.com") to the “External domain exceptions” or "Sender exceptions" field, Sendent won't automatically trigger when an email with an attachment larger than 1MB is sent or receivedfrom those addresses. This gives you more control over how Sendent operates in specific scenarios, helping you to optimize your email workflow and save time.

  • Dependencies Checker: The new "Dependencies Checker" section in the General settings page helps you ensure that you have all the required applications installed for Sendent to work properly. In addition, the section also displays any recommended applications that you may want to install for a more optimal Sendent experience. This feature is designed to make it easier for you to set up Sendent and get the most out of its powerful email management capabilities.

  • Public share for guest accounts: With this new addition, users will now be prompted with a dialogue box when they click on the "Public Share" button, which previously was only available after sharing a file or folder. The new dialogue box provides users with greater flexibility and control over their public sharing option when you want to use Guest accounts. Additionally, the snippet for this feature can be adjusted under Guest accounts > Public Share Guest Account Snippet and Share files Guest Account Snippet.

Bug fixes

  • Improved handling of the insert cursor position.

  • Fixed an error that occurred when a 0KB attachment was uploaded.

  • Improved support for simple HTML snippets.

  • Use the Nextcloud guest user ID for Guest Accounts instead of the recipient email address.

  • Actually log the user out when they click the Log Out button, so that a new user can log in.

  • If anonymous sharing is disabled and no recipients are found (Guest Accounts), the user will receive a notification that this must be resolved before they can continue to the next step.

  • If a manual password is chosen and the "&" character is used, it will be replaced by an "!" character. This is due to a possible encoding issue in HTML that would otherwise cause problems when trying to open the shared file or folder.

  • In certain cases, the Public Share button did not work properly. This has now been fixed.

  • To better support firewalls, we now provide a "content-type" attribute when uploading files.

  • Rare issue where large files could not be uploaded is fixed.

  • Date Time formatting in the back-end in it's entirety in local date time format.

  • Fix for Greenshot applied, when the send using account is not available.
